Seaplane Use of Project Waters, Lake Ashtabula, Baldhill Dam, Sheyenne River, Barnes County, North Dakota.

Abstract

Lake Ashtabula was created by the construction of Baldhill Dam and is located on the Sheyenne River, North Dakota. The Corps proposes to allow seaplanes to use the Lake Ashtabula reservoir. This is consistent with the operational, recreational, and environmental objectives established for the reservoir. Seaplane landings would disturb waterfowl, and the noise might disturb other wildlife. The major impact would be scattering of waterfowl during the spring and fall migratory seasons. (Author)
