A Marketing Study on the Recruitment and Retention of Black-American and Women Cadets. Part II. Advertising and Communications.
Abstract
The study was undertaken in the Fall of 1980 to address this problem, as stated by the United States Military Academy; A particularly acute problem facing West Point today is enrolling qualified minorities (especially Black-Americans) and women in sufficient numbers to achieve Department of Army goals and beneficially affect educational diversity within the Corps of Cadets. The present programs do not appear adequate to the task. This problem may be a prelude to more extensive recruiting problems of the mid-1980's. (Author)
