Abstract

The synthesis and characterization of a new energetic material, 1,4,5,8-tetranitro-1,4,5,8-tetraazadifurazano (3,4-C) (3,4-H) decalin (CL-15) is described. The compound is calculated from its measured heat of formation and density to be the most eneregetic compound synthesized to date. (Author)
