Rate Constant of the OH + H2O2 yield HO2 + H2O Reaction.

Abstract

Absolute rate constants for the reaction OH + H2O2 HO2 + H2O have been measured using the flash photoysis resonance fluorescence technique over the temperature range 241 to 413 K and at 1 atm helium. H2O2 concentrations were measured by ultra violet and infrared absorption spectrophotometry. The rate constant at 294 K was found to be K sub 1 = 1.8 + or - 0.3 x 10 to the minus 12th power cu cm per molecule per sec, in agreement with recent literature values. The results yield a curved Arrhenius plot, with slight increase in the rate constant at the lower temperatures.
