Examination of Optical Holograms by a Scanning Electron Microscope.

Abstract

Two optical holograms recorded in silver halide photographic emulsions were examined by a scanning electron microscope. Surface relief produced by the light exposure as well as in-depth silver fringes (also lightwise) were imaged. Other structure, some of which is periodic - but none of which is known to be produced by the light - is pointed out and possible causes of the patterns mentioned.
