FNOC In Situ Technical Support.

Abstract

This report provides a summary of the work performed in the form of on-site technical assistance to the Fleet Numerical Oceanography Center (FNOC), Monterey, California, for the express purpose of assisting FNOC in the installation, operation, refinement and maintenance of NORDA sponsored oceanographic and acoustic models which are utilized to fulfill Fleet requirements. The major responsibility of the NORDA sponsored technical representative was to ensure the orderly installation, operation, refinement and maintenance of NORDA TAEAS/SEAS acoustic models, the procedures required to provide timely products, and data bases with associated utility processors. The activities associated with this task can be divided into primary and secondary. The primary activities included: Technical software support, Quality assurance support, Software development assistance, and Functional configuration management. While the secondary activities included: General consultation support, Technical assiatance to FNOC, and Resource utilization analysis.
