Numerical Skills Curriculum Guide. Supplement.

Abstract

This report presents a numerical basic skills curriculum for use in Academic Remedial Training or in Apprentice Training. The curriculum is designed to enable students who are deficient in basic numerical skills to attain at least minimal proficienty in elementary mathematics. The project was undertaken by the Training Analysis and Evaluation Group as one of several initiatives in response to tasking by the Chief of Naval Education and Training in the area of basic skills training. The results of a field test of the curriculum with recruits awaiting entrance into the Fireman Apprentice Training course in Orlando were positive.
