Model for the Propagation of Pulsed Surface Polaritons with Quasi-Self-Induced Transparency.

Abstract

The possibility of quasi-self-solid interface is investigated. A theoretical model combining the optical Bloch and Maxwell equations is presented. The boundary conditions of the interface system lead to a closed relation between the laser pulse velocities in each of the two media. The behavior of transverse phase oscillations in hyperbolic secant pulses, due to the properties of the interface and the restriction of the pulse duration, are discussed.
