A Program of Elliptic Solver Development and Implementation in Semi-Implicit Numerical Ocean Circulation Models.

Abstract

Several elliptic solver programs have been developed using the highly efficient and versatile 'error vector propagation' (EVP) method as the fundamental algorithm component. The basic new program is a modified version of Madala's SEVP method that can handle arbitrary geometry, with or without islands. There are several other versions of this new program: one allows irregular boundaries but not islands; one does not allow irregular boundaries or islands; and some versions exist with and without roundoff relaxation in the forward sweep. All versions are capable of handling Dirichlet, Neuman, and mixed boundary conditions. (Author)
