Fiber Optic Transceiver Thermal Analysis,

Abstract

This report documents the thermal analysis done by the Systems Engineering Section in support of the in-house Air Support Operations Center (ASOC) Fiber Optic Remoting Project. The purpose of the ASOC project was to develop a fiber optic transceiver that would allow ASOC systems to replace the 26 pair metallic cable with the much lighter dual fiber optic cable. In support of this project, RBES used computer aided thermal analysis and laboratory thermal measurement to design and verify the thermal design of the ASOC experimental module. (Author)
