Abstract

This report provides a summary record of significant design, construction, and operational data on Yankee Hill Dam for use by engineers to familiarize themselves with the project, re-evaluate the embankment when unsatisfactory performance occurs, and provide guidance for designing comparable future projects. Yankee Hill Dam is located in Lancaster County in the southeastern part of the State of Nebraska. It dams the Cardwell Branch, a tributary of Salt Creek, approximately 3-1/2 miles east and 1/2 mile south of Denton, Nebraska.
