Measurement Techniques of Electrical Parameters of Surface Materials in the X-Band Region.

Abstract

Based on an in-depth study of the propagation of EM plane waves and TE(10) waves in materials, the relationships between wave propagation parameters and the electrical parameters of the materials are established. Quantities that are related to wave propagation parameters and can be measured are defined. Potential measurement techniques are analyzed and evaluated. Two measurement techniques are identified as suitable for surface materials measurements. A measurement system called Radar Parameter Instrumentation is described.
