Implementation of a Reliability Shorthand on the TI-59 Handheld Calculator.
Abstract
It is shown how a reliability shorthand can be implemented on a handheld calculator. Assuming constant failure rates, basic structures are used to show how the shorthand can be applied. Several examples are worked out that show, how, with component failure rates as input, a handheld calculator can be used to compute the reliability of a system. Two TI-59 programs are provided as a computational aid.
