Installation Restoration Program Records Search.

Abstract

DoD policy is to identify and fully evaluate suspected problems associated with past hazardous material disposal sites and spill sites on DoD facilities, control the migration of hazardous contamination from such facilities, and control hazards to health or welfare that may have resulted from these past operations. The existence and potential for migration of hazardous material contaminants was evaluated at Eielson AFB by reviewing the existing information and conducting an analysis of installation records. Pertinent information includes the history of operations, the geological and hydrogeological conditions which may contribute to the migration of contaminants, and the ecological settings which indicate environmentally sensitive habitats or evidence of environmental stress.
