The Factory of the Future

Abstract

The Factory of the Future is examined from a material handling perspective. Opportunities and impediments for the Factory of the Future are addressed. Three major parameters in justifying factory automation are identified and assessed. Material handling objectives for the automated factory are listed. Key issues in stepping up to automation are discussed. (Author)
