Comparisons of Clinical Practice at Four Navy Fleet Mental Health Support Units.
Abstract
The populations treated at four Navy outpatient psychiatric clinics were compared on demography, factors precipitating referral, source of referral, diagnosis, and disposition. There was a large degree of congruence between patient characteristics and patterns of clinical practice. At the same time, there were indications that other variables including clinicians' characteristics and biases affected treatment practices.
