Software Tools for Voice Recognition Research.

Abstract

This report describes software tools provided to interface an Interstate Electronics Corporation Voice Recognition Module (VRM) to a VAX 1/780 computer. The purpose of the tools is to provide a flexible and easy to use set of software modules for experimenters to implement VRM host functions in various task environments. Software to provide analysis of recognition data is also presented. These statistics aid experimenters in developing vocabularies for various implementations of voice input. The voice input hardware and software tools are being used to explore the use of voice as a component of human/computer dialogues. (Author)
