A Comparison of the Laplace Distribution with an Empirical Model of D062 Demand in Lead Time.

Abstract

Current D062 safety level computations utilize the Laplace Distribution to approximate the distribution of demand in a lead time. This paper presents several plots which compare the Laplace distribution with an empirical model of D062 demand in a leadtime. Section I provides additional background for the paper, while Section II presents a detailed comparison of several specific leadtime demand models. (Author)
