Purification and Properties of Clostridium perfringens Spore Lytic Enzymes.

Abstract

The project has dealt with the mechanism of germination of Clostridium perfringens spores, specifically enzymes involved in this process. The object was to purify two lytic enzymes which cause germination of these spores. One is an extracellular enzyme (Initiation Protein) produced during growth; the other is part of the spore itself and is somehow activated during germination. (Author)
