Synthesis of a Collision Tolerant Fixed Navigation Marker System.

Abstract

The collision tolerant navigational marker system study was undertaken to determine the feasibility of using rubber as a flexure elment when mounted in a fixed navigational structure for shallow water applications (20 ft. depth or less). Quantitative evaluations will be made of the system's technical feasibility, performance under environemntal loadings, availability, associated installation systems, and cost. It is the intent of this work to develop a data base, investigate the use of mathematical/computer models, develop a configuration matrix of installation modes. (Author)
