Factors Influencing Army Accessions.

Abstract

The subject of this thesis is accessions and the factors influencing a potential recruit's decision to join the Army. Six types of analysis were performed: regression analysis, data base profile analysis through SPSS Frequencies and Crosstabs, factor analysis, discriminant analysis, time series analysis, and analysis of leading economic indicators. The USAREC Enlistment Prediction Model was improved; the MEPS file was reorganized, analyzed with respect to District Recruiting Command (DRC), and merged with the USAREC file; factor and discriminant analysis procedures were developed and employed to examine the merged file by DRC; Box-Jenkins time series analysis was applied to the DMDC data; and procedures were implemented using leading economic indicators.
