Navy Child Care, 1980.

Abstract

This thesis research was conducted to determine the need for child care services provided by the Navy, and to examine the child care needs of one group of personnel (active duty women) within the Navy. The overall objective was to determine if Child Care Services, both quantity and quality, are affecting retention and force readiness. Two surveys were conducted for this thesis. The first was a survey of Navy active duty women who had children. The survey was designed to investigate the child care needs, problems, and experiences of this group. The second survey was of eighteen primary Child Care Centers located on Navy bases operated by the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Division of the Navy. This survey was designed to document the operations, services and policies of these centers during 1980. (Author)
