The Effect of Electric Field on the Free Energy of SbS(1-x)O(x)I.

Abstract

Calculation of free-energy coefficients for ferroelectrics having axial polarization is performed for two conditions: i.e., with and without an electric field. An experiment to evaluate these coefficients for SbS1-x0xI versus temperature and pressure is described. The results are displayed as shifts in the Curie temperature and pressure as a function of electric field and are found to be in good agreement with phenomenological theory predictions. (Author)
