Computer Assisted Data Storage and Retrieval in Mutagenicity Testing. II. The Drosophila melanogaster Sex-Linked Recessive Lethal Assay.

Abstract

The mutagenicity testing of materials in compliance with federal regulations requires several standards. Among these are the implementation of an extensive labelling system. A computer-assisted system has been established and described. Regulations also require storage of data. A computer program has been developed that records these new data from the Sex-Linked Recessive Lethal Assay, stores it in permanent computer files, and allows the user to see the data by means of a print-out copy as they are stored. The data also can be retrieved easily. Other programs which allow for a formatted print-out of a selected data set will also be described.
