Grating Beam Combiner.

Abstract

The fabrication, test, and analysis of a two-wave length dual-frequency beam sampling grating has been performed. Measurements of the efficiency, diffracted wavefront quality, frequency ratio, and skew are described. Analysis of the effects of nonzero skew and frequency ratio residual on its performance are presented, as well as the required process tolerances to achieve acceptably low levels of each. A laboratory demonstration confirmed the invariance of the co-boresighting of the two wavelengths with respect to tilt of the grating. (Author)
