Comparison of Data from the Low Energy Electrostatic Analyzers on Satellite P78-1.

Abstract

Air Force satellite P78-1 has aboard, on the wheel section, two detectors each consisting of a low energy and a high energy electron electrostatic analyzer. The low energy analyzer collects electrons in the energy range of 50 eV to 1 keV and the high energy analyzer collects electrons in the energy range of 1 keV to 20 keV. The two detectors were placed 90 apart on the wheel section of the satellite. The leading detector in the wheel's rotation is denoted as Detector 1. (Author)
