Automated Design of Damage Resistant Structures. Volume 2. Program User's Manual

Abstract

This report documents an effort to develop an optimality criterion approach to the design of damage tolerant structures subject to stress, deflection, and frequency requirements. Damage conditions are treated in an integral manner in the resizing algorithm. An iterative reanalysis procedure is used to improve the efficiency of the static analyses that are needed as the optimization proceeds. In this volume of the report, input instructions to the computer code ADDRESS (Automated Design of the Damage Resistant Structures) are detailed. Further information is included which shows the required control card sequence, the program structures, and subroutine descriptions. The program is operational on the CDC CYBER system at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
