Representative Electromagnetic Field Intensities Near the Clam Lake ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) Facility.

Abstract

Electromagnetic field intensities produced at 76 Hz by ELF Communications antennas, and at 60 Hz by low voltage commercial power transmission and distribution systems measured at more than 50 places within a 25-mile radius of the U.S. Navy's ELF Communications Facility at Clam Lake, Wisconsin, are discussed. All measured electromagnetic field intensities were weak, and 76 Hz field intensities were lower than 60 Hz intensities except within a mile of the ELF antennas. (Author)
