Unit of Issue.

Abstract

Each year, DoD wholesale supply activities receive approximately one million repetitive requisitions for low-cost items. The cost to process those requisitions frequently exceeds the value of the items issues. It has been proposed that the unit of issue for these items be increased from 'each' to some larger quantity to reduce the number of repetitive requisitions. THe underlying rationale of the proposal is to have end-users retain excess items from the increased unit of issue to meet subsequent demands. (Author)
