Image Processing and Digitization Facility.

Abstract

The Image Processing and Digitization Facility (IPDF) is a sophisticated system of fully integrated hardware and software for engineering advanced image-processing algorithms. The IPDF combines highly specialized hardware elements in a generalized software environment that provides consistent and convenient access to all elements of the system. The IPDF provides the research scientist with command-level access to all image functions to facilitate quick evaluation and development of new algorithm ideas. The IPDF then supports the implementaiton of efficient simulations to test algorithms over large databases of images. The IPDF is a research tool which provides all the facilities for design and development of state-of-the-art image-processing algorithms. (Author)
