Development of Castor Oil Resistant Urethane Sonar Encapsulants.

Abstract

A detailed development program was completed on new liquid castable polyurethanes suitable for the encapsulation of castor oil filled sonar transducers. The urethane encapsulants were designed to have improved castor oil resistance, be free of MBOCA (methylene bis (2-chloroaniline)) and consist of readily identifiable and available non-proprietary raw materials.
