Computer Security for the Computer Systems Manager.

Abstract

This thesis is a primer on the subject of computer security. It is written for the use of computer systems managers and addresses basic concepts of computer security and risk analysis. An example of the techniques employed by a typical military data processing center is included in the form of the written results of an actual on-site survey. Computer security is defined in the context of its scope and an analysis is made of those laws and regulations which direct the application of security measures into Automatic Data Processing systems. Finally, a list of some of the major threats to computer security and the countermeasures typically employed to combat those threats is presented. (Author)
