Performance of a Variable Conductance Heat Pipe Heat Exchanger.

Abstract

The primary objective of the work is to evaluate the performance of an air to air variable conductance heat pipe heat exchanger (VCHPHX). This type of heat exchanger is of particular interest to the commercial aircraft industry because of its unique control system. The results from this research will help to provide the engineer with experimental data necessary to design a full scale prototype heat exchanger to be tested in situ. (Author)
