Manufacturing Technology Program Information System: Functional Description.

Abstract

This document contains a functional description of the Manufacturing Technology Program Information System (MTPIS). This MTPIS will provide OSD and Service staff members a tool to strengthen Program management's performance in planning, programming, budgeting, execution, documenting benefits and diffusing technology throughout the industrial base. The proposed MTPIS is an automated data processing system to replace most of the existing manual procedures used by OSD and Service staff members. The system will provide automated storage of and access to Program-related data. These data will reside in a central computer's data base and will be accessed by the DBMS and related applications software. (Author)
