Development Feasibility of Missile Datcom

Abstract

This report summarizes the methods available to predict the aerodynamic static, dynamic, and control characteristics of missiles. The methods selected for Missile Datcom development were based upon a criteria which included ease of use, accuracy, utility over a range of flight conditions and cost effective in their use. This report describes the methodology appropriate for the missile designer. An outline of a Missile Datcom handbook is proposed; an automated version is also recommended for development. Those areas presently lacking suitable methodologies are also highlighted.
