Static Pressure and Axial Velocity Distributions Near the Centre of the Working Section of the ARL 2.7. M X 2.1 M Wind Tunnel.

Abstract

The static pressure and axial velocity distributions of the flow in working section number two of the 2.7 m X 2.1 m low speed wind tunnel have been determined for four unit Reynolds numbers along five streamlines near the centre of the section. Current results generally agree with previous results although the static pressure gradient is 28% larger than obtained previously, and deviations from the mean velocity are not quite as large. The results obtained, and given in this report, are satisfactory for their intended purpose of correcting for flow variations in the working section when testing reflex ship models up to 3 m in length.
