Abstract

The filament wound, crashworthy 450 gallon H-53 external fuel tank was subjected to a series of qualification tests to verify the design. The tests described within the report include physical measurements, pressure, slosh and vibration, static load, vapor ignition, ballistic, fuel fire and crash impact.
