An Analytical Model for Developing Objective Measures of Air Crew Proficiency with Multivariate Time Sequenced Data. Volume 1. Analysis and Results

Abstract

This report represents a theoretical investigation of analytic methods for deriving differential weighting functions from preselected samples of multivariate, time sequenced observations of aircrew performance. The research effort resulted in an analytic model which could be used to prepare and to further investigate differential weighting functions as a means of establishing relationships between time sequenced observations of aircrew performance and independent assessments of aircrew proficiency. A companion report, Volume II. Computer Program Documentation (RN 81-17), provides documentation of the basic computer programs used in the processor termed 'Measurement Analysis Processor' (MAP).
