General Guidelines for the Mitigation of Nuclear Weapon Effects on Fiber Optic Communication Systems through the Use of Selected Design Practices.

Abstract

This report provides guidelines for the design and installation of a fiber optic communication system to improve the tolerance of that system to a nuclear environment. These guidelines, if incorporated, can protect a significant portion of the national fiber optic communication system resources that might otherwise be destroyed. (Author)
