Energy Release and Fluid Dynamics in Multiphase Systems.

Abstract

In the following discussion we will summarize the work performed by Science Applications, Inc. (SAI) on 'Energy Release and Fluid Dynamics in Multiphase Systems' (Contract N00014-82-C-2037, SAI Project 1-157-18-519-00) during the technical performance period ending 7 January 1983. During this contract period, our attention was focussed primarily on (1) deriving power-energy relations for the direct initiation of detonations, and (2) ignition behind incident shocks and the transition to detonation.
