Summary of Analysis of Sources of Forecasting Errors in BP 1500 Requirements Estimating Process and Description of Compensating Methodology.

Abstract

The researchers developed a methodology for improving the accuracy of the Air Force Logistics Command (AFLC) forecasts of Aircraft Replenishment Spares (BP 1500) POM requirements. The research was divided into three phases: (1) Develop a program plan for accomplishing the study; (2) Examine the AFLC BP 1500 POM (Program Management Memorandum) forecasting process and identify sources of errors and recommend changes; and (3) Develop and demonstrate a methodology for improving the AFLC forecasting accuracy for BP 1500 POM requirements.
