Evaluation of the Tri-Service Radiology System at the Naval Hospital, Bethesda.

Abstract

The Tri-Service Medical Information Systems (TRIMIS) Program Office (TPO) has installed four initial stand-alone computer systems for support of radiology operations in Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs). The system, known as the Tri-Service Radiology System (or TRIRAD), provides automated support to patient management, scheduling, film management, administrative reporting statistics, teaching and research, and reporting assistance to radiologists. The experience with the implementation fo this system in the Radiology Department at the Naval Hospital, Bethesda (NHB), has been evaluated in order to provide information for use in decision-making about the future use of automation in radiology departments in other MTFs.
