Doppler Processing of Radar Clutter Echoes with Limited Range Extents.

Abstract

The Doppler processing of radar echoes from clutter patches of finite range extent was studied. The results of the study show that if the range extent of the clutter patches is known or measured, and if the parameters of the radar's pulse bursts and Doppler processor are set based on this knowledge, then performance can be significantly improved under many cases.
