Test and Evaluation of the MT 75 Rope Tester - A Hand-Held NDT Wire-Rope Inspection Device

Abstract

The nondestructive wire rope tester, MT 75, was investigated, tested, and evaluated in order to fill the gap between the hand-held rag inspection and the large unitized AC/DC wire rope inspection device. The MT 75 can provide better information on the condition of the wire rope than be obtained by using the rag and visual inspection method.
