A Statistical Survey of Vessel Performance and Configuration Characteristics on Inland Waterways.

Abstract

This report provides information about tow characteristics for the Mississippi River, its tributaries and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. It will allow for consistent input data to be used in the evaluation of navigation improvements. The performance and characteristics of tows on the waterways are important determinants of barge rates and inputs into waterway cost models. (Author)
