Stoichiometry and Conductivity Response of Amorphous and Crystalline Complexes Formed between Poly(ethylene Oxide) and Ammonium Salts.

Abstract

A single crystalline phase having the approximate composition 4:1 PEO NH4SCN was identified, and an approximate phase diagram was constructed. The PEO.NH4S03CF3 system is more complex and a phase diagram was not obtained however at least two compounds of 8:1 and 4:1 stoichiometry are indicated. Conductivity plots idnicate that the metastable amorphous phase of the various materials has a conductivity approximately higher than that of the crystalline phase at room temperature. (Author)
