The Affects of a Changing Soviet Military Strategy on the Khrushchev Regime: 1954-1964.

Abstract

This paper is a survey of the available literature to determine the effect of the Soviet Military debate on the downfall of Nikita Khrushchev in 1964. It was determined that the military, while not playing a dominant active role, did make its desires known. It also looks at the disagreement of several interest groups within the military and within the military-political structure in the Soviet Union at the time. (Author)
