Evaluation of VHF-FM Shore-Based Direction Finding Triangulation System in Massachusetts Bay Area.

Abstract

The evaluation consisted of the following phases: (1) System definition and site selection; System calibration; Operational evaluation; Cost/benefit analysis. It was concluded that properly implemented shore-based direction finding systems in either single line-of-bearing of triangulation configurations are valuable potential tools in accomplishment of SAR mission requirements.
