Analytical Evaluation of the Potential Due to a Uniformly Charged Planar Triangular Region.

Abstract

The electrostatic potential due to a planar triangular patch of surface charge of unit charge density in free space is proportional to the surface integral over the patch of the reciprocal of the distance to the observation point. Several closed form expressions for this integral are available in the literature. The present report gives a detailed derivation of one of these expressions. (Author)
