Trainability Testing for Navy Selection and Classification

Abstract

The miniature training and evaluation (MTE) approach to personnel selection involves training a person on a sample of the tasks of a job and then testing him or her on task performance. People who show ability to learn to perform a sample of a job's tasks are assumed to be able to learn the whole job, given appropriate on-the-job training. Such tests are held to meet EEOC requirements better than the usual paper-and-pencil selection tests.
